The D20 Status module consists of two detachable modules, the WESTERM d20s and the WESDAC d20s. The bottom module WESTERM d20s is where all field wiring ends. The top module, WESDAC D20 S, processes the collected data and transmits it to the main D20 processor.
The WESDAC d20s module is the terminal of the WESDAC d20s status input module. All fields, I/O, power terminals for WESDAC D20S are made on westdac D20S and up to 64 digital inputs can be accommodated on the compressed type terminal. By using a voltage drop resistor, the input range from 12 VDC to 130 VDC can be handled.
Capacitors and varistors are equipped to provide surge tolerance (SWC) as well as pulse protection for all field inputs. The inputs are divided into 8 groups, each with 8 state inputs. Each group has its own common return and is electrically isolated from the other groups. The input provides two compressed terminals for field connection.
All inputs are bipolar, thus accommodating positive and negative ground systems. Each group can be configured with a group common or for contact wetting. The contact wetting can be supplied either from the input to the WESDAC D20S or from an external supply. The wetting supply is fused. Two DB 9 connectors are provided to allow daisy chaining of the D.20 links. The link provides the communication channel over which the main D20 CPU processor, the WESDAC D20 M, can communicate with the WESDAC D20 S. Power for the WESDAC D20 S is also provided over the same cable assembly. The power is fused and filtered by passive components on the WESTERM D20S.
The WESMAINT D20 maintenance port provides a single db9 connector. This port allows communication between VT 100 terminals
or simulators, and the WESDAC d20s module input data as diagnostic information can also be passed through the maintenance port.
The address jumper block of the WESDAC d20s is located on the westdac d20s. The jumper block corresponds to the secondary address
of the module on the D.20 link.
The WESDAC d20s is physically installed and electrically connected to the WESDAC d20s through three 40-pin connectors.
The two modules are mounted on a 19-inch rack, all the field terminals are connected to the west d20s, only the passive components
are mounted on the WESTERM D20, and all the active components are turned on by the WESDAC d20s.
