The REB670 IED has multiple algorithms in a single device. It has two differential protection functions: a basic function and a function with a sensitive operating level. The latter is capable of detecting internal busbar earth faults in low-impedance earthed power systems, where neutral reactors or resistors typically limit the earth fault current to between 300A and 2000A.
