The EPRO MMS3311/010-000 9100-03081 is used in conjunction with the PR 6423/000-000 9200-00080N Eddy Current Sensor Probe. The MMS MMS3311/010-000 9100-03081 is a speed and key-phase transmitter of the MMS 3000 transmitter system by epro. It is used to monitor various rotating machinery. It features flexible hardware and diverse combination options. With integrated dual-channel signal converters, it can be connected to multiple types of eddy current sensors, and parameters can be set through configuration software. It has technical characteristics such as a measurement range of 0 - 65535 rpm and a frequency range of 0 - 20 kHz. There are multiple output types, and it can achieve functions like zero-speed and rotation direction detection, redundant mode, and dual-current mode. The power supply can be redundant. It has an IP 65 protection rating and an operating temperature range of -20...+65°C. When installing, it is necessary to pay attention to avoiding heat concentration. There are various ordering options, and professional technicians are required for installation and commissioning.
Application fields of the MMS 3311 transmitters are all kinds of rotating machines, e.g. turbo machines, fans, compressors, gear boxes, pumps and similar, rotating machines.
data sheet:
Function and Design
Measurement Principle
It measures the shaft speed and generates key pulses by detecting the trigger wheel or key marks on the shaft. Channel 1 is used for speed measurement, while Channel 2 is for generating key pulses. These two channels can operate independently.
Fault Detection
The integrated monitoring function of the transmitter and sensor can detect faults in the sensor and the transmitter circuit. When a fault occurs, the state of the “OK” output changes, and the 4 - 20mA current output becomes 0mA.
Configuration Method
Configuration is carried out with the help of the MMS 3910 configuration software. The product comes with a standard configuration suitable for most applications when leaving the factory, and it can also be customized.
Additional Functions
Zero-speed and Rotation Direction Detection
If there is no pulse input within a specific time, the machine is determined to be stationary and an output is given. The rotation direction can be detected by using two speed sensors.
Redundancy Mode (Speed)
Two speed sensors are required. When one sensor fails, it automatically switches to the other.
Dual-current Mode
The output current is divided into two ranges. For example, if the measurement range is 0 - 3000 rpm, 0 - 300 rpm is one range, and after exceeding 300 rpm, the output current for the entire measurement range is rescaled.
Ordering Options
Sensor Input
There are two identical input channels, and you can choose between an internal or an external converter.
Communication Mode
The standard communication mode is RS 232. You can also choose RS 485 or PROFIBUS DP.
Parameter Output
You can choose no output, two outputs with system reference, or two electrically isolated outputs.
Function Output
The standard is 5 optocoupler outputs. You can also choose 5 relay contacts or 5 opto - MOS relay outputs.
Display
There is no display as standard. An 8 - digit display is optional.
