The GE H201Ci-1 Transformer Monitoring and Control Unit is designed for monitoring transformers and is specifically designed to detect fault conditions in oil-filled electrical equipment. It is part of the HYDRAN®201Ti smart transmitter system, a small cylindrical thermal control enclosure mounted on the transformer valve to be monitored. The system contains the HYDRAN® sensor and its microprocessor-based electronics, and is used in conjunction with the H201C i-1, H201C i-4, or H201C iC controllers. The HYDRAN®201Ti is housed in a NEMA 4X instrument enclosure and is designed to meet the requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 89/336/EEC, including the EN 50082-1 immunity standard for RF emissions and fast transients. 50082-1 immunity standards for RF radiation and fast transients.
The HYDRAN®201Ti is a small on-line warning transmitter that provides personnel with a single reading (in ppm) of various fault gas composite values to alert them to potential problems. The value can be downloaded and the alarm can be set to a predetermined level to alert personnel and monitor ongoing fault conditions. The system is ideally suited to small to medium sized transformers with low risk and/or consequences of failure and is particularly suitable for transmission transformers. It provides real-time single composite fault gas measurements, local and remote alarms set at predefined levels or rates of change, and remote viewing of gas readings and trends via serial port communications. The system is easy to install on a single valve, requires no moving parts, no pumps, no additional piping, and no field calibration.
