TRICONEX 4211 is a remote extender module used in DCS systems. It allows remote communication with other stations.

The I/O address is a trivialized four-digit binary number represented by a jumper soldered to the backplane of the rack. 

On the backplane of an expansion rack or TRICONEX 4211 Main Fiber RXM Module, three sets of four jumpers each may be seen from the front of the Tricon system near the lower left corner of the motherboard. There are 12 jumpers in total, and they represent different binary addresses in different combinations. All three sets of jumpers must have the same address. 

connect the TRICONEX 4211 module to the TRICONEX controller. The module has a single-mode fiber optic cable that can be connected to the controller's SRXM port. The cable can be up to 7.5 miles (12 km) long.

Configure the TRICONEX 4211 module using the TRICONEX software. The software can detect the module and allow you to set its parameters, such as the remote station's IP address and the communication protocol.
